A famous Harvard Business School study from years ago found that:
– 83% of the population does not have any clearly defined goals, much less financial.
– 14% have goals, but they are not written down.
– 3% of the population has goals that are written down.
The study concluded that the 3% that have written goals were earning an astounding 10x that of the 83% group! In addition, similar studies have shown that individuals with written goals also tend to have better health and happier marriages than those without goals.
Below is a type of form I like to use to write down my goals. Beside each subject is what I will do to try and accomplish the goal. I put a copy in my wallet, on my bathroom mirror, in my Bible, and even in my smartphone notes. I encourage you to do the same thing and then look back in a year to see how you did.
Aim for nothing, and that’s exactly what you will hit, but aim for the stars and maybe you’ll hit the moon! It is better to have tried and failed than to not have tried at all.
In 2021, I am going to strive to accomplish….
Spiritually – What I will do to try and accomplish this goal?
Physically – What I will do to try and accomplish this goal?
Financially – What I will do to try and accomplish this goal?
Relationally – What I will do to try and accomplish this goal?
Mentally – What I will do to try and accomplish this goal?
Professionally – What I will do to try and accomplish this goal?
