Don VandeVanter

Don is a Wealth Advisor for Christian Financial Advisors^®. After a long and enjoyable career as a Certified Public Accountant and the Chief Financial Officer of a leading agricultural financial institution in Texas, he wanted a career where he would better be able to directly help individuals and families with their personal financial planning and decisions. After successfully completing the educational requirements and passing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ examination, Don is a candidate for the CFP® certification. He is excited with this opportunity that Christian Financial Advisors^® is giving to help people in a valuable and meaningful way.

Don brings over 35 years of financial services and public accounting experience to his role. In his role as Chief Financial Officer, he helped guide the financial institution through growth from $500 million to over $9 billion, an annual average growth rate of 17 percent. During that time of growth, the institution was able to return more than $1 billion of its earnings in cash back to its members through its cooperative structure. He is also experienced in raising capital through the public equities market, successfully issuing $200 million in preferred stock for the institution, one of the first Farm Credit associations to do so.

Don has helped guide people financially on a personal level, too. His years in the public accounting industry gave him much experience in tax planning and preparation at the individual as well as business level. He has also led many Bible studies on personal finance and loves to learn how God’s Word applies to every area of our lives.

Don is married to his wonderful wife, Kelli, for over 35 years, and have two sons and a daughter, a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law, and two amazing granddaughters. When he’s not busy with financial planning, Don loves to hang out with his wife and family, play golf, or take a hike.
